Nippon Express opens new air freight facility near Dhaka to support Bangladesh exports
NX Bangladesh, part of Japan’s NIPPON EXPRESS Holdings group, has opened a new air freight handling facility in Gazipur District to support Bangladesh’s growing export cargo volumes.
The Nippon Express Bangladesh Air Freight CFS was inaugurated on September 16.
With exports of apparel and other goods on the rise, Bangladesh is seeing growing demand for air freight logistics services offering higher standards of quality control and security.
Against the backdrop of this expanding logistics demand, NX Bangladesh has opened a new facility and consolidated its hitherto separately managed warehouse operations therein with the aim of improving air cargo handling quality and streamlining operations.
Located approximately 10 km from Dhaka International Airport, the facility handles everything from cargo receiving to exterior inspection, weighing, labeling and conveyance to the airport under an integrated management system.
In addition to 24-hour monitoring via a 360-degree CCTV surveillance system, the facility is equipped with safety features such as water tanks and fire suppression systems. It also utilizes vehicles equipped with security measures to ensure safe transport of cargo to the airport.
With four truck docks and ample vehicle staging space, the warehouse has an efficient operational system capable of operating round-the-clock.
The NX Group will continue robustly supporting its customers’ global business expansion and helping develop local economies by providing high-quality and efficient logistics services.
NX Bangladesh Managing Director Kei Sakai said, "This facility is capable of meeting a wide range of needs, including temporary storage for household goods as well as air cargo export. It will serve as a key hub for meeting the anticipated growth in export cargo demand and for providing the high-quality logistics services characteristic of the NX Group. We will strive to further improve our services so that we can help solve our customers’ logistics challenges and contribute to their business growth."
