PM reaches Saidpur to visit Durga Puja mandap in Rangpur

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman reached Saidpur Airport on Tuesday morning to visit a Durga Puja mandap in Rangpur on Maha Navami, the ninth day of the Sharadiya festival.

He arrived at the airport at 9:50am by a military aircraft from Dhaka, said PM’s Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Rumon.

Disaster Management and Relief Minister Asadul Habib Dulu, State Minister for Water Resources Farhad Hossain Azad, Rangpur City Corporation Administrator Mahfuz Un Nabi Chowdhury Don, Rangpur Development Authority Chairman Shamsuzzaman Samu, Divisional Commissioner Jahangir Alam, DIG Aminul Islam, Deputy Commissioner Ishrat Jahan and Superintendent of Police Mohammad Mozammel Haque, among others, received the Prime Minister at the airport.

After completing formalities at the airport, Tarique is scheduled to travel to Rangpur by road in a motorcade.

Atikur Rahman Rumon said the Prime Minister is likely to address two roadside rallies at Taraganj and Paglapir on his way from Saidpur to Rangpur.

Tarique left Tejgaon Airport in Dhaka at 9am for a tour of puja mandaps in Rangpur, Rajshahi and Chattogram.
