Organised by Wikimedia Bangladesh, the conference brought together 70 participants from Bangladesh, India and Nepal.
The event, which began on October 30, concluded on Sunday. It is the official annual conference of Bangla-speaking Wikimedians, organised by Wikimedia Bangladesh, with the aim of enriching the repository of free knowledge in Bangla, strengthening the capabilities of the Wikipedia community and setting future action plans.
On the final day, Wikimedia Bangladesh Programme Lead Masum Al Hasan presented the organisation's recent activities and future plans.
Nahid Sultan, a member of the Wikimedia Foundation's Trust and Safety team, and Lead Programme Officer Jacqueline Chen took part in a panel discussion titled "Community Empowerment: Resources and Partnerships".
The conference also featured discussions on the future of the Bangla language and policy preparedness in the age of artificial intelligence.
Participants also emphasised increasing volunteer participation in Bangla Wikipedia, improving the quality of information and expanding the practice of free knowledge.
Over the three days, various aspects of promoting free knowledge, enhancing technological capabilities and strengthening cooperation within the Wikimedia community were discussed.
This year's conference placed emphasis on building a reliable and open information repository in Bangla while keeping pace with technological changes. The organisers expect the event to further accelerate activities related to Bangla Wikipedia.
