Large crowd turns out for Inqilab Moncho’s March for Insaf in Chattogram

Inqilab Moncho’s “March for Insaf (Justice)” reached Chattogram on Friday, with thousands of people joining the march after Jumma prayers.

Members and supporters of the cultural platform took part in the procession, which drew a large crowd as it moved through the port city.

The march is part of a nationwide programme launched by Inqilab Moncho on October 7 from Panchagarh, demanding justice for the killing of its founder and slain student leader Sharif Osman Hadi.

The platform is also demanding the implementation of the July National Charter and justice for the July, Shapla and Pilkhana massacres.

The march previously reached Dhaka on October 23, its 17th day, after participants walked nearly 27 kilometres in a single day. They arrived at Shahbagh around 4pm, visited Hadi’s grave and held a street rally.

The march is scheduled to conclude in Teknaf, at the country's southernmost tip, with a grand rally also expected to be held at Shahbagh in Dhaka.
