State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Anindya Islam Amit on Friday directed government officials to ensure quality services for the public, warning that no additional fees beyond government-fixed charges would be tolerated at land offices.

He made the remarks while inaugurating the newly constructed Ramnagar Union Land Office building in Jashore Sadar upazila this morning.

Later, he inaugurated the construction of drains and roads in Ward No. 5 of Jashore Municipality.

Amit said the government led by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman wanted to bring public services to people's doorsteps and was working to reduce their suffering.

The Prime Minister wanted to transform the government into a people-oriented administration, he said, adding that the current government belonged to all citizens.

The government would not deviate even an inch from its commitments to the people and would ensure quality services for every citizen, he added.
