BCB announces women's team for Asia Cup, Asian Games

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Monday has announced the Women's team squad which will take part in the ACC Women's Asia Cup in Dubai and the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.

Bangladesh are drawn in Group B along with defending champions Sri Lanka, hosts the UAE and Indonesia for the 2026 Women's Asia Cup, scheduled to be held in Dubai from August 28 to September 13.

Group A comprises seven-time champions India, Pakistan, Thailand and Hong Kong, China.

Bangladesh, however, will kick off their campaign against Indonesia on August 31 before taking on Sri Lanka on September 6. They will wrap up their group-stage fixtures against hosts the UAE on September 8.

The top two teams from each group will progress to the semifinals, scheduled for September 10 and 11, before the final on September 13.

All matches will be played under lights at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Bangladesh will play directly in the quarterfinal in the Asian Games due to their superior ranking.

In the quarterfinal, they will take on China on September 17 at Korogi Athletic Park. If they win, they will take on India or Japan in the semifinal.
