BCB recalls Hasan from Kent early over workload concerns: Reports

Bangladesh pacer Hasan Mahmud is set to cut short his stint with County side Kent, as the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has reportedly recalled him from England ahead of the Asian Games over workload concerns.

Hasan has impressed in his debut season in Country cricket, snapping up 26 wickets in four matches at an average of 15.76 – the best among all bowlers who have at least claimed 20 wickets.

The BCB had initially granted him a No Objection Certificate (NOC) until September 27.

However, with him being named in Asian Games 2026 squad, where Bangladesh’s campaign will begin on September 29, the pacer has been recalled early, reported sports-based website The Stadium.

Multiple outlets have since corroborated the story, although neither the BCB nor Kent has officially announced the development.

Hasan's Bangladesh teammate Khaled Ahmed has also joined the side and the duo played together in their last match against Derbyshire.

Hasan was Bangladesh’s star performer in the historic Test win over Australia in Darwin in August, claiming a nine-wicket haul in the match which included a six-for in the first innings.

Bangladesh want him fit and ready when they vie for gold at the Asian Games, set to take place in Japan.

The Bangladesh contingent is expected to leave for Aichi-Nagoya on September 25. They will begin their campaign from the quarterfinal stage on the 29th. They will face the winner of Group B, comprised of Hong Kong, Malaysia and Oman.
