Khaled takes eight as Kent cruise to seven-wicket win over Lancashire

The Bangladesh pacer had already done the bulk of the damage in the first innings with a five-wicket haul, and he wasted little time making his presence felt in the second.

Khaled struck in the second over, drawing an edge from Jack Crawley with a delivery that moved away sharply, the catch taken at first slip without a run conceded in that opening over.

Marcus Harris offered Lancashire their most stubborn resistance with 48 off 74 balls, but Khaled removed him too.

The left-hander hesitated over a delivery pitched around off stump that moved away late, withdrew his bat at the last moment but could not avoid the edge, with the catch again going to first slip.

Khaled added a third victim before finishing with three for 52 from 15 overs in the second innings.

Lancashire were bowled out for a modest total, leaving Kent a target that Sam Northeast and Tawanda Muyeye set about chasing with authority.

The pair had put on 77 together when Tom Bailey intervened, trapping Muyeye leg before wicket with a sharp delivery. The right-hander had scored 43 off 44 balls, striking seven fours.

Northeast and Daniel Bell-Drummond then took Kent to the finish line without further alarm.

Northeast was denied a half-century by his own captain, Bell-Drummond sealing the win with two boundaries from consecutive balls before Northeast could reach 50.

Northeast finished unbeaten on 48, Bell-Drummond on 19 from 43 balls.
