Saifuddin ruled out of Asian Games

Bangladesh all-rounder Mohammad Saifuddin has been ruled out of the Asian Games men’s cricket event after suffering a hamstring injury, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced on Monday.

"Saifuddin complained of pain in his right hamstring while bowling during the practice session on 19 September. Following a physical examination and MRI, the injury was confirmed,” national team’s physio Bayjedul Islam Khan was quoted as saying in a BCB media release.

"He will require approximately three weeks of rehabilitation to recover,” he added.

The all-rounder was part of a strong Asian Games squad, led by Litton Das.

The BCB is yet to announce his replacement.

Bangladesh will begin their campaign in the Asian Games cricket event with the quarterfinal match on September 29.
