BERC sets Jet A-1 price at 159.52 taka per litre for domestic flights
The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) on Sunday fixed the price of Jet A-1 aviation fuel at 159.52 taka per litre for domestic airlines and $1.0358 per litre for international airlines.
The new prices will come into effect at midnight on August 9, according to a circular issued by the regulatory commission.
BERC Secretary Md Nazrul Islam Sarkar issued the circular following a review of international fuel prices and the exchange rate.
The commission considered the Platts rates for Jet A-1 from July 5 to August 4, 2026, along with the US dollar exchange rate used in the Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation’s (BPC) letter of credit (LC) settlements, in determining the prices for August.
The BERC held a public hearing under Sections 34(4) and 34(6) of the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission Act, 2003, based on proposals submitted by BPC and Padma Oil Company Limited (POCL).
A committee formed by BERC to review and adjust the monthly price of Jet A-1 also submitted its report for August. The committee considered international Platts rates, the US dollar exchange rate and changes in transportation costs in making its recommendations.
The commission subsequently adjusted the Jet A-1 prices for the month.
