47th BCS: Results published, 1,521 pass

Updated on

The final results of the 47th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examination were published on Sunday, ahead of schedule.

A total of 1,521 candidates were provisionally recommended for appointment, including 1,320 to various cadre services and 201 to non-cadre posts.

Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC) Chairman Professor Mobashwer Monem had earlier expressed optimism that the results would be out in the first week of July.

But by expediting final verification and tallying up of marks after viva voce examinations, the timeline was further reduced.

A total of 3,631 candidates qualified in the written examination with the viva voce exams held in May.

The 47th BCS circular was issued on 28 November 2024, announcing a total of 3,688 vacancies, including 3,487 cadre posts and 201 non-cadre posts.

The preliminary examination was held on 19 September 2025, and the results were published just nine days later – a record for the fastest publication of BCS preliminary results.

The written examinations took place simultaneously in Dhaka, Rajshahi, Chattogram, Khulna, Barishal, Sylhet, Rangpur and Mymensingh .
