'See you in Venice': Badhon celebrates The Difficult Bride's Orizzonti selection

Acclaimed actor Azmeri Haque Badhon has congratulated filmmaker Rubaiyat Hossain and the team behind The Difficult Bride after the film was officially selected for the Orizzonti Competition at the 83rd Venice International Film Festival.

In a social media post, the actor described the selection as "an incredible moment for Bangladeshi cinema", noting that the Venice International Film Festival is the world's oldest film festival and one of the most prestigious celebrations of cinema.

"Being selected in an official competition at Venice is a remarkable achievement for any filmmaker and a proud milestone for Bangladesh," the actor wrote.

Addressing director Rubaiyat Hossain, the actor added, "Dear Rubaiyat Hossain, congratulations to you and your entire team. Your fearless vision, unwavering dedication, and commitment to telling powerful stories continue to bring Bangladeshi cinema to the global stage."

The actor also expressed gratitude for being part of the project, despite appearing only in a guest role.

"I feel deeply honoured and grateful to be part of this historic journey. Although I have a guest appearance in The Difficult Bride, it means the world to be part of a film that will represent Bangladesh at one of the most prestigious film festivals in the world. I will always cherish this moment with immense pride," the post read.

Congratulating everyone involved in the production, the actor concluded the message by expressing hope for the future of the country's film industry.

"Congratulations once again to everyone who made this film possible. Here's to Bangladeshi cinema reaching new horizons and inspiring generations to come. See you in Venice."
