Tanjin Tisha secures bail in saree promotion fraud case

Popular actress Tanjin Tisha has secured bail after surrendering before a court in a case filed against her on allegations of fraud and breach of trust for failing to promote a clothing brand’s saree and pay the agreed price.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Jewel Rana granted her bail after hearing her application on Thursday.

According to the case details, Tanjin Tisha surrendered before the court through her lawyer on the scheduled date and sought bail. Following the hearing, the judge granted her bail.

As she has secured bail in accordance with the rules, the case will now be transferred to the appropriate trial court for final disposal.

After obtaining bail, Tanjin Tisha told reporters at the court, “The person who filed the case also has a daughter. He filed a case against me only for a saree worth Taka 7,000. I want justice.”

According to the case documents, Tanjin Tisha had received a saree worth around Taka 28,800 from an online fashion page called Aponia.

The complaint alleges that under an agreement, she was supposed to promote the saree or pay its price. However, she later stopped all communication with the page authorities.

Following the incident, a case was filed against her in court on allegations of failing to pay for the saree and breaching the agreement.

On July 12, the court took cognisance of the complaint and issued a summons against Tisha, directing her to appear in person before the court on August 13.

In accordance with the court’s order, she appeared before the court today and secured bail.
