Salman Shah films return to screen for week-long tribute
Deepto TV has organised a week-long programme featuring seven Salman Shah films to mark the Dhallywood star’s 30th death anniversary, with one film airing each day at 2:30pm from September 5 to 11.
Salman Shah remains one of the most enduring icons of Bangladeshi cinema, with his popularity continuing three decades after his untimely death. He is particularly remembered for the romance and youthful spirit associated with 1990s Bangladeshi films.
The tribute began on September 5 with Shah Alam Kiran’s Bichar Hobe, starring Salman Shah alongside Shabnur, Raisul Islam Asad, Dolly Johur and Humayun Faridi.
Today, September 6, on the actor’s 30th death anniversary, Deepto TV will air MA Khaled’s Shopner Thikana. The film also features Shabnur, Sonia, Rajib, Dolly Johur and Abul Hayat.
On September 7, viewers can watch Shibli Sadik’s Anondo Osru, featuring Salman Shah and Shabnur alongside Kanchi, Dolly Johur and Humayun Faridi.
Malek Afsari’s Ei Ghor Ei Songsar will be aired on September 8, with a cast including Brishti, Rosie Afsari, Bulbul Ahmed, Aliraj and Tomalika Karmakar.
Zakir Hossain Raju’s Jibon Songsar, starring Salman Shah, Shabnur, Farooque, Bobita and Golam Mustafa, will follow on September 9.
On September 10, Deepto TV will air Reza Hasmat’s Prem Piyashi, featuring Salman Shah, Shabnur, Anwara, Rajib and Misha Sawdagor.
The tribute will conclude on September 11 with Badal Khandakar’s Shopner Prithibi, starring Salman Shah alongside Shabnur, Rajib, Bobita and Raisul Islam Asad.
