‘Abar Hothat Brishti’ set for theatrical release

The remake of the 1998 romantic drama Hothat Brishti, titled Abar Hothat Brishti, is set to hit cinemas on October 2, with Arian Sarowar and Radifa Narmin in the lead roles.

Directed by Kamruzzaman, the film was originally scheduled for release during Puja but was postponed after failing to meet the planned schedule.

Production wrapped about three months ago, and the film has since received clearance from the Certification Board.

The original Hothat Brishti was directed by Basu Chatterjee and starred Ferdous and Priyanka Trivedi. While the remake draws from the atmosphere of the earlier film, it presents the story for a contemporary audience.

Arian takes on the role made famous by Ferdous, while Radifa plays the character portrayed by Priyanka Trivedi in the original.

Arian said he watched Hothat Brishti several times before filming and studied Ferdous’s performance, but deliberately avoided copying his portrayal.

The supporting cast includes Azad Abul Kalam, Farzana Chhobi, Cristano Tanmoy, Kayes Arju, Mou Khan and Jhuna Chowdhury.
