Grammy-winning singer Zach Bryan wore a “Free Palestine” shirt during his concert at Robert Kraft-owned Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts on Friday, following controversy over Macklemore’s support for Palestinians.

Bryan was performing at the venue as part of his With Heaven On Tour when he and members of his band appeared on stage wearing “Free Palestine” shirts.

The performance came after Kraft and other venue owners pressured Ed Sheeran to remove Macklemore from his tour over the rapper’s outspoken support for Palestinians.

Bryan is scheduled to perform at Gillette Stadium again on Saturday night. It remains unclear whether Kraft will take any action following Friday’s performance.

The development follows Sheeran’s decision last month to drop Macklemore from his tour after criticism surrounding the rapper’s “Free Palestine” remarks on stage. Sheeran subsequently said the decision was made by the promoter after Kraft brought together several venues on the tour and gave him an ultimatum.

Sheeran’s Gillette Stadium shows were later cancelled amid a nor’easter headed towards Boston, despite his decision to remove Macklemore from the tour.

Following the controversy, fellow tour openers Finneas, Aaron Rowe and Lukas Graham also withdrew from the tour, along with Sheeran’s backing band Beoga.

Macklemore subsequently announced the Free Palestine Tour, described as supporting the Palestinian people and movement. The tour is scheduled to run from October 26 to 30 in Dublin, Paris and London, and Macklemore has said it sold out immediately.
