Anusheh Anadil opens up about health, quiet life, absence from stage
Acclaimed musician and cultural personality Anusheh Anadil has rejected speculation that addiction was behind her absence from major concerts and commercial music events, saying she remains capable of performing and has made personal lifestyle choices to prioritise her well-being.
In a video shared on social media, Anusheh addressed assumptions about her decision to stay away from the stage.
“Don't sit at a distance and judge me, assuming that I gave up music because of addiction or that I can no longer sing. I am still perfectly capable of singing. I sang just a little while ago for all these women,” she said.
Explaining her absence from large-scale concerts and commercial performances, she said she had simply chosen not to take part in such events.
“I simply don't perform at big concerts or sing commercially. I may have made certain decisions in my life to make things easier for myself,” she added.
In July this year, Anusheh revealed that she was gradually losing her hearing. In a social media post, she disclosed that she was suffering from tinnitus, a condition that causes persistent ringing or noise in the ears and has made loud sounds increasingly difficult for her to tolerate.
She said the condition affects her hearing and that loud noises can cause pain in her ears. On her doctor's advice, she initially began using hearing aids, but found that her tinnitus symptoms became more pronounced after wearing them. She eventually stopped using the devices.
Her health concerns have also influenced her lifestyle. Anusheh said she now prefers a quiet, secluded environment away from the noise and bustle of city life.
