Ziaul Faruq Apurba to perform at Tampa festival
Actor-turned-singer Ziaul Faruq Apurba is set to perform at the seventh World Fair and Fest in Tampa, Florida, on December 13, following the response to his first solo concert in New York earlier this year.
Held in August at the Jamaica Performing Arts Centre, the concert, titled Apurba Live Musical Night, saw him perform for nearly two hours, combining popular Bangla songs with personal anecdotes. The upcoming Florida show will mark his next performance in the United States.
At his New York debut, Apurba performed several popular songs, including Hemanta Mukherjee’s Ei Raat Tomar Amar, Mon Shudhu Mon Chuyeche and Keno Ei Nishongota, Bappa Mazumder’s Din Bari Jay, Feedback’s Moushumi and Nagar Baul James’s Baba.
Following the concert, Apurba hinted at plans to perform in other US cities, revealing that he had received proposals from 12 cities. However, he said he did not want to rush the arrangements and preferred to take enough time to prepare for each performance.
His upcoming show will take place on the second day of the two-day World Fair and Fest, scheduled for December 13 at 7:30pm local time.
Announcing the performance in a video message, Apurba said, “After New York, I am now coming to Florida to share my music with you. Looking forward to meeting everyone through songs and stories.”
Previously occupied with acting projects throughout the year, Apurba now spends much of his time in the US, where he is exploring opportunities to develop his music career alongside acting. He has also expressed interest in performing at concerts in Bangladesh.
Before returning to the US in early October, the actor completed shooting for more than half a dozen television dramas in Bangladesh. He has also disclosed that discussions are under way for several film projects, with official announcements expected if the plans move forward.
