Bangladeshi Ali Chowdhury to compete in Private Chef World Cup final in Paris

Paris-based Bangladeshi expatriate and chef Muhammed Ali Chowdhury is set to represent Bangladesh in the final round of the prestigious Private Chef World Cup 2026 in Paris.

The second edition of the international competition will be held from September 10 to 13 as part of a major gastronomy festival in the Concorde area of the French capital.

Muhammed Ali Chowdhury is the only Bangladeshi and South Asian chef among the 18 finalists selected from five continents. Chefs from France, Cameroon, Mexico, Bulgaria, Togo, Germany, Brazil and Belgium will also compete.

A total of 240 applications were submitted for this year’s competition, making his selection for the final a notable achievement.

With years of culinary experience in France, Chowdhury will showcase his cooking skills, creativity and presentation while representing Bangladesh and its rich culinary heritage on the international stage.

The judging panel includes internationally recognised chefs and food experts, including Romain Besseron, chef to the French Prime Minister, and Anne-Laure Descombin, founder of the International Gastronomy Village.

His participation in the prestigious competition has generated interest among Bangladeshis at home and abroad and could help promote Bangladeshi cuisine on the global culinary stage.
