Bangladesh U17 girls hammer Jordan ahead of Asian Cup qualifiers
Bangladesh's Under 17 women's team secured a resounding 5-0 win over hosts Jordan in a friendly in Amman on Thursday, as part of their preparations for the upcoming AFC U-17 Asian Cup qualifiers.
Saiful Bari Titu's side went into the break with a slender 1-0 advantage before pulling away emphatically in the second half, adding four further goals to complete a dominant display against their opponents.
Alpi Akter opened the scoring in the first half, with Ria, Mousumi, Kulsom and Payel each finding the net once after the restart to round off the 5-0 victory in convincing fashion.
Bangladesh will play a second friendly against Jordan on September 13, continuing their preparations before shifting focus entirely to the qualifiers, which begin in October.
The side have been drawn in Group G alongside the Philippines and hosts Uzbekistan for the qualifying campaign.
Bangladesh will open their group stage matches against Uzbekistan on October 8, before facing the Philippines three days later on October 11.
While the Under 17 side prepare in Jordan, Bangladesh's senior women's team are currently training separately in China ahead of the upcoming Asian Games in Japan.
The squad will travel on from Guangzhou to Nagoya, with their opening match in the women's football event scheduled for September 14, five days before the tournament's official opening ceremony on September 19.
