Real Madrid goalkeeper Courtois to miss Clasico due to illness

Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois will miss his side's LaLiga clash against Barcelona on Sunday after contracting the flu, the club confirmed in a statement.

Courtois' absence leaves manager Jose Mourinho without a key player for the crucial encounter against their league-leading rivals.

The 34-year-old Belgian, who has featured in every match this season, will miss his first game of the campaign.

Andriy Lunin is expected to replace Courtois between the posts at Camp Nou. The Ukrainian goalkeeper last appeared for Real Madrid on 3 May, when they secured a 2-0 victory over Espanyol.

Meanwhile, Illia Voloshyn has been called up to the senior squad, with Sergio Mestre also included among the goalkeepers for the match.
