Saka out for weeks with thigh injury, says Arteta
Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka will be sidelined for a few more weeks with a quadriceps injury, manager Mikel Arteta said on Friday.
The England international, 25, was hurt in last month’s Champions League draw at Bayern Munich. He will miss England’s Nations League games against Croatia and Spain this month.
“We’re talking about weeks,” Arteta told reporters ahead of Saturday’s league game against Hull City. “After the international break he’ll start hitting the pitch... but unfortunately he’s going to be out for a while.”
Arteta said he did not want to put too much pressure on Arsenal’s fitness staff over Saka’s recovery.
Defender Ezri Konsa, who left the field with knee discomfort in Wednesday’s 2-1 Champions League win at Slavia Prague, was feeling better, Arteta added.
Arsenal lead the Premier League with 24 points from nine matches. They are third in the Champions League table, two points behind Paris St Germain and Real Madrid.
