Five more die from measles, measles-like symptoms
Five more children have died from measles and measles-like symptoms across the country in the past 24 hours, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
During the period, 941 new suspected measles cases and 84 confirmed cases were reported, the DGHS said in a press release today.
From March 15 to August 12, a total of 786 children have died from measles-like symptoms, while 99 have died from confirmed measles infections. The combined death toll from measles and measles-like symptoms has reached 885.
According to the release, 139,125 suspected measles cases have been detected across the country since March 15. Of these, 17,469 have been confirmed as measles infections.
Meanwhile, 104,717 measles patients have so far been admitted to hospitals, of whom 101,056 have recovered and been discharged.
