Dengue claims four more lives, 1,163 hospitalised in 24 hours

Four more people died of dengue, while 1,163 new patients were hospitalised across Bangladesh in the 24 hours to 8am on Monday, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

With the latest fatalities, the country’s dengue death toll has risen to 97 this year.

The new deaths were reported in Dhaka South City Corporation, Dhaka North City Corporation and Mymensingh division, the DGHS said.

Since January 1, a total of 35,846 dengue patients have been admitted to hospitals across the country.

Of them, 33,205 have recovered and been discharged.
