Dengue claims 5 more lives, 1,110 hospitalised in 24 hours
Five more people died of dengue and 1,110 new patients were hospitalised across the country in the 24 hours to 8am on Wednesday, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The latest deaths take the country’s dengue death toll to 107 this year. Two deaths each were reported in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and Mymensingh division, while one was recorded in Barishal division.
Since January 1, a total of 38,280 dengue patients have been admitted to hospitals nationwide, of whom 35,433 have recovered and been discharged, according to DGHS data.
