3 more children die with measles symptoms

Three more children died with suspected measles symptoms across Bangladesh in the past 24 hours, raising the total number of deaths from confirmed measles and suspected cases to 1,099 since March 15, according to a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) control room press release issued on Monday.

The release said 1,214 suspected measles cases were reported in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of suspected cases to 189,255 between March 15 and September 28.

Another 96 confirmed measles cases were reported during the same period, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 21,308 since March 15.

Between March 15 and September 28, a total of 167,469 suspected measles patients were admitted to hospitals across the country, while 160,705 recovered and were discharged, according to the DGHS.

Three children died with suspected measles in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of deaths from suspected measles to 998 since March 15.

No deaths from confirmed measles were reported in the past 24 hours. Since March 15, a total of 101 children have died from confirmed measles.
