6 die of dengue, 2,010 hospitalised in 24 hrs

Six dengue patients died in the last 24 hours till 8am on Tuesday while 2,010 were hospitalised after being infected with the mosquito-borne disease during the same period.

The latest fatalities have raised the country's dengue death toll to 439 this year, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Of the newly-hospitalized dengue patients, 943 were in Dhaka Division, 60 in Mymensingh Division, 245 in Chattogram Division, 235 in Khulna Division, 219 in Rajshahi Division, 65 in Rangpur Division, 219 in Barishal Division and 24 in Sylhet Division.

According to the report, a total of 140,909 dengue patients have, so far, been hospitalized across the country this year.

So far, 134,594 dengue patients have recovered and returned home after receiving treatment in the hospitals.

A total of 102,861 people were infected with dengue, and 413 people died from the mosquito-borne disease last year.
