GD filed against former Milestone student for ‘spreading confusion, provocative remarks’

Milestone College authorities on Thursday filed a general diary (GD) against a former student after remarks she made during a protest centring Higher Secondary Certificate exams went viral.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Turag Police Station Mostafizur Rahman confirmed the GD to the Daily Waadaa.

Milestone College Security Officer Muhammad Zahurul Islam filed the GD on behalf of the college.

The complaint states that even after receiving a transfer certificate (TC) from the college, the student used Milestone College's identity card to speak in a video circulated on social media, which is tarnishing the reputation of the institution and creating confusion in the public mind.

The GD mentions the student was formerly enrolled in the science department (English medium) in the 2024-25 academic year.

However, due to disciplinary reasons, she was given a transfer certificate (TC) with the permission of the Dhaka Education Board.

As a result, she is not currently a student of Milestone College and does not have the right to use any identity of the institution.

The GD also states that in a video recently circulated on social media, the student is seen using her Milestone College identity card to make provocative statements against the government in a movement related to the HSC exam question paper.
