Asif Mahmud named head of NCP diaspora subcommittee, Monira Sharmin deputy
The National Citizen Party (NCP) has formed a subcommittee on diaspora affairs to oversee the party’s activities among expatriates, naming its Senior Joint Member Secretary Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuiyain as its head and Joint Convener Monira Sharmin as deputy head.
The move aims to make the party’s diaspora-related activities more dynamic and effective, coordinate its organisational activities and strengthen initiatives concerning expatriate welfare, said a press release on Monday.
According to the press release, the subcommittee was formed with the approval of NCP Convener Nahid Islam and Member Secretary Akhtar Hossain.
Rafe Salman Rifat, Tanzil Mahmud, Ayman Rahat and Tarek Reza have been appointed as organising secretaries of the subcommittee.
Ridwan Hossain Akshar, Arafat Hossain Alif, Jasim Uddin and Alamgir Chowdhury Akash have been appointed as assistant organising secretaries. Barrister Nurul Huda Juned has been named secretary for expatriate welfare.
Monira’s appointment as deputy head of the diaspora subcommittee came a day after the NCP dissolved the existing committee of Jatiya Nari Shakti, the party’s women’s wing, previously headed by Monira.
