India thrash Bangladesh 10-0 in Asian Games hockey

Bangladesh ended their Asian Games 2026 hockey campaign on a sour note, suffering a heavy 10-0 defeat to India in their final Group A match at Gifu Prefectural Green Stadium in Nagoya, Japan on Monday.

Harmanpreet Singh scored a hattrick, Shilaland Lakra a brace while Jugraj Singh, Abhishek, Sukhjeet Singh, Sanjay and Mandeep Singh netted one goal each to complete the rout.

India dominated from the outset, scoring once in the first quarter before launching a series of attacks in the second quarter to further extend their lead.

The Indian dominance continued after the half-time break as Bangladesh struggled to contain their opponents’ relentless attacks in the third and fourth quarters.

Bangladesh had earlier beaten Sri Lanka 5-1 and Indonesia 3-1 after losing to South Korea 5-0 and hosts Japan 6-1 in their opening two matches.
