Authorities have announced the indefinite closure of the “Sada Pathor” tourist destination in Sylhet’s Companiganj upazila due to flooding amid continuous rainfall.

Tourists have been advised not to visit the spot until the situation returns to normal, Companiganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mohammad Robin Mia told reporters on Sunday (21 June).

According to local sources, hilly onrush amid rain inundated shops and business establishments surrounding the tourist site.

Considering the safety of visitors, the upazila administration decided to suspend tourist access until further notice.

The administration said the closure was imposed as a precautionary measure to avoid any unwanted incidents during the ongoing inclement weather and flood situation.
