Speaker Hafiz Uddin to join Khameni’s funeral in Tehran

Bangladesh Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmad is scheduled to attend the state funeral of Iran's late Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, in Tehran.

Speaker Hafiz Uddin is expected to arrive in Tehran on 3 July at the invitation of Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, a diplomatic source said.

In his invitation letter to his Bangladeshi counterpart, Qalibaf wrote: "I cordially invite you to join us so that we may host you at this historic and magnificent ceremony."

According to Iranian state media, the state funeral for Ali Khamenei will begin in Tehran on 4 July. He will later be buried in his hometown of Mashhad on 9 July.
