A Dhaka court on Sunday set July 21 for passing its order on charge framing in a graft case against former member of National Board of Revenue (NBR) Matiur Rahman.

Dhaka Divisional Special Judge BM Tarikul Kabir passed the order after holding a hearing on the matter today.

Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) deputy director Md Anwar Hossain filed the case on December 15, 2024, for concealing information of wealth of Tk1.27 crore and amassing illegal wealth of Tk5.28 crore.

The anti-graft body on February 3, 2026, submitted a charge sheet against Matiur, who had earlier come under intense public scrutiny in 2024 after his son booked a sacrificial goat for a staggering Tk15 lakh.

Detective Branch (DB) of police on January 15, 2025, arrested Matiur Rahman and his first wife Laila Kaniz from the city's Bashundhara Residential Area.
