3 killed in Khagrachhari ‘gunfight’

Three people were killed allegedly after two groups engaged in a gunfight in a remote area in Panchhari upazila of Khagrachhari district on Monday.

The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.

Ferdous Wahid, Officer-in-Charge of Panchhari Police Station, said at around 12:30pm, two groups of criminals exchanged gunfire over establishing dominance, leaving three people dead on the spot.

Police were on the way to the spot to recover the bodies, said the OC.

The OC also said it was not immediately known whether any armed hill group was involved in the incident.
