10 injured in air conditioner explosion in Bangshal

At least 10 people were injured in an explosion involving an air conditioner at a salon in the Bangshal area of Old Dhaka on Wednesday.

Immediately after the explosion, local residents rushed to the scene, rescued the injured, and took them to the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.

Shawon Bin Rahman, resident surgeon at the burn institute, said nine of the injured had been admitted to the hospital and were undergoing treatment.

According to the Burn Institute and local sources, the explosion occurred with a loud bang while work was underway at the salon on Wednesday morning. Within moments, the fire spread throughout the shop, leaving employees and customers with burn injuries.

Doctors said several of the injured are in critical condition.
