Expressing satisfaction over the achievement, DU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr ABM Obaidul Islam said the inclusion of 22 teachers and researchers in the global list was a matter of great joy and pride.
“Recognition of the University of Dhaka as Bangladesh’s top research institution is also an important reflection of the quality and international impact of our research. I sincerely congratulate the teachers and researchers concerned on this achievement,” he said.
The vice-chancellor said DU had long played an important role not only in higher education but also in research and knowledge creation.
“Our teachers and researchers are conducting quality research on various important issues at home and abroad, and their work is receiving international recognition. Their inclusion in the list of the world’s leading researchers is a shining example of this,” he said.
He said DU had already taken various initiatives to expand the scope and improve the quality of research.
“We are focusing on increasing facilities for researchers, expanding international collaboration and encouraging young researchers. We are working to ensure that more researchers from the University of Dhaka can contribute to internationally significant research in the future,” he said.
