PM chairs meeting on Dhaka ‘s public transport management

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Thursday chaired a meeting to discuss Dhaka’s public transport management, road safety and ways to address disorder in the capital’s transport system.

The meeting began at the Cabinet Division of the Secretariat in the morning, said a release issued by the PM’s press wing.

Road Transport and Bridges Minister Shaikh Rabiul Alam, State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Mir Shahe Alam, State Minister for Road Transport and Bridges Habibur Rashid, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister ABM Abdus Sattar, Local Government Division Secretary Md Shahidul Hasan, Dhaka Transport Coordination Authority Executive Director Mohammad Mashiur Rahman, Road Transport and Highways Division Secretary Dr Mohammad Ziaul Haque and Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mosleh Uddin Ahmed, among others, attended the meeting.

The meeting is discussing various issues relating to the management of public transport in Dhaka, ensuring road safety and resolving the existing disorder in the city’s public transport system.
