Rizvi calls for new approach to end road transport anarchy

BNP Acting Secretary General and Prime Minister's Political Adviser Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi today stressed on fresh thinking and effective management to end the long-standing anarchy, disorder, and illegal practices in the road transport sector.

He made the remarks after paying wreaths at the graves of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia at the Sher-e-Bangla Nagar this morning with the newly elected leaders and activists of the Bangladesh Road Transport Workers' Federation.

Rizvi expressed the hope that this organization, under its new leadership of road transport workers, will remain vigilant in eliminating the anarchy, disorder, and illegal practices on the roads that have persisted for a long time.

He said that the newly elected leaders of the organisation coming from a background in student politics, will apply their new thinking and ideas to resolve the stalemate in the road transport sector bring management into compliance with the law, and make exemplary contributions to passenger services.

The new leadership of this organization will put an end to the long-standing “mafia” culture in the road sector, he hoped.

Under the leadership of this newly elected committee, it will be possible to provide the people of the country with a new management system, moving away from the deteriorated and deplorable condition that has developed in the road transport sector, Rizvi said

This will increase people's trust, give them a sense of security, and provide safety and comfort in their travels, he added.
