BSS

A court on Thursday deferred until October 26 the hearing on charge framing in a case filed against ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and 33 others over the alleged murder of truck driver Md Hossain during the 2024 July Mass Uprising.

The hearing was scheduled for Thursday, but prison authorities failed to produce accused Naim and Sajjad before the court as they were required to appear before other courts in separate cases.

Allowing a time petition filed by the prosecution, Judge Robiul Alam of the Dhaka Special Judge Court-4 set the date for the hearing.

According to the case documents, Hossain was shot in the Chand Udyan area of Mohammadpur on July 19, 2024, while returning home after leaving his truck in the Gabtoli area. He later succumbed to his injuries.

Hossain’s mother, Rina Begum, filed the case with Mohammadpur Police Station on August 31, 2024.

Police submitted a charge sheet on November 23, 2025, against 34 people, including Sheikh Hasina, former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, former foreign minister Hasan Mahmud and former minister Jahangir Kabir Nanak.
