Seven Bangladeshis, including women and children, were killed in a road accident in Saudi Arabia on Saturday while travelling from Medina to Jeddah, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
The accident occurred after their vehicle lost control midway, killing all seven occupants at the scene, officials from the ministry's West Asia division said.
The victims were associated with Al Abeir Cold Store Trading Company, which operates in Saudi Arabia. Their homes were in Chakaria upazila of Cox's Bazar district.
Among the deceased were the company's storekeeper Ziaur Rahman, his two sons and daughter, the wife of company forklift operator Elias, and Alamshah, a storekeeper working in Mecca, along with his one-month-old daughter.
The Bangladesh Consulate in Jeddah is maintaining contact with local authorities to gather further information about the accident and the casualties, the ministry said.
