Bangladesh pace duo Hasan Mahmud and Khaled Ahmed shared seven wickets between them on the opening day of Kent's County Championship fixture against Derbyshire, marking the first time the pair have featured together in an English county match.
Hasan set the tone immediately, striking with the very first two deliveries of the innings after Kent won the toss and asked Derbyshire to bat first at the County Ground in Derby on Tuesday.
Harry Came edged behind to be caught at slip, before Matthew Montgomery was trapped leg before by a sharply inswinging delivery next ball, leaving the home side reeling at two wickets down without a run on the board.
Khaled then made an immediate impression on his county debut, removing Muhammed Naim leg before for 12 before also dismissing experienced captain Wayne Madsen, who fell for 29 despite having amassed more than 17,500 first class runs across his career.
With Derbyshire wobbling at four wickets down, Martin Anderson began the rebuild alongside Luis Reece, the pair adding 91 valuable runs for the fifth wicket before Eshan Singh eventually broke the stand by removing Reece for 32.
Hasan returned to strike again shortly afterwards, trapping wicketkeeper batter Brooke Guest leg before in familiar fashion, while Bertie Foreman also chipped in by bowling Ben Aitchison to leave Derbyshire struggling at 172 for seven.
From there, Anderson took control of the innings almost single handedly, forming an 84 run stand for the eighth wicket alongside Brett Randall, who contributed 29 before eventually falling to bring the partnership to an end.
Anderson continued to bat with real authority throughout, eventually finishing unbeaten on 129 from 190 balls including 15 boundaries, guiding Derbyshire to a respectable total of 300 despite the earlier top order collapse against Kent's pace attack.
Khaled completed the innings by removing Jack Morley, who dragged the ball onto his own stumps, before Hasan wrapped things up by trapping last man Shoaib Bashir leg before to bring Derbyshire's innings to a close.
Hasan finished with excellent figures of four for 30, continuing the outstanding form he has shown throughout this county season, having already claimed seven wickets in his previous match against Worcestershire, including four in the first innings there.
Those figures take Hasan's overall tally to 23 wickets in just four County Championship appearances so far, underlining the impact he has made since arriving to play his first season of traditional English red ball cricket.
Khaled, playing his maiden county match, ended with three wickets to his name, having shown he could trouble Derbyshire's batters with the older ball as well as the new, despite conceding a fair number of runs along the way.
Kent's own reply began before the close of play, with the visitors reaching 11 for one by the end of the opening day
