Bangladesh ‘A’ clinched the rain-hit three-match one-dayer series against their South African counterparts 1-0, after winning the third match by five wickets in Potchefstroom on Saturday.

Spinners Rishad Hossain and Aliss Al Islam set up the win, claiming 4-45 and 3-35 respectively, as Bangladesh ‘A’ bundled out South Africa ‘A’ for 182 in 40 overs.

Skipper Marques Ackerman’s 54 off 61 balls and No.9 batter Imran Manack’s 43 off 53 rescued the side from 89-6, but it wasn’t enough to seal the win. 

In reply, Saif Hassan’s boundary-laden 61 off 53 – with nine fours and three sixes – and Mohammad Naim’s 60 off 77 helped to reach 185-5 in 33 overs.

Previously, the first one-dayer saw only 11 overs of action while the second match was abandoned without a ball being bowled.

Bangladesh lost the preceding two-match four-day series 0-1.
