The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has decided to introduce a six-team domestic competition structure spanning three formats, its board of directors decided after their fourth meeting, held virtually on Sunday.

The new framework will cover First Class four-day cricket, List A One-Day cricket and List A T20 cricket under a single competition. Team ownership rights will be offered to established corporate and financial institutions in Bangladesh for an initial three-year period.

“The Board noted that the T20 competition will be the first event under the new structure, with a tentative window in December 2026,” read a media release issued after the meeting on Sunday.

The board also approved revised match fees for players in BCB domestic competitions, as proposed by the Working Committee.

In men's cricket, four-day match fees rise to Tk 150,000, one-day fees to Tk 100,000 and T20 fees to Tk 80,000. National Cricket League 2nd XI players will earn Tk 15,000 per match.

In women's cricket, three-day match fees rise to Tk 40,000, one-day fees to Tk 30,000 and T20 fees to Tk 20,000 per match.

The daily allowance for the Bangladesh Under-19 team has also been increased, from Tk 10,000 to Tk 20,000.

Elsewhere, the board approved the installation of an IAAF-approved, three-lane athletic running track at the National Cricket Academy Ground, Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS), Dhaka, to support cricketers' training and fitness needs.

The board also approved upgrades to two alternative dressing rooms, the players' entry area and the common lobby at SBNCS, along with the construction of two new dressing rooms at the venue.

The new dressing rooms will support domestic tournaments and practice matches, while the existing Pavilion Building facilities will be reserved primarily for international matches.

Separately, the board approved the appointment of a consultant to provide architectural, engineering and project-preparation services for the proposed renovation of Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogura.
