Uncapped pacers Disha Biswas and Habiba Islam Pinky earned their maiden call-up to the national side on Wednesday as the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) named a 16-member squad for Bangladesh’s first-ever Women’s ODI series against Australia in Australia, set to begin on October 9.
Disha and Habiba, both of whom featured in the Emerging team’s tour of South Africa last month, have been named to bolster the pace attack which also includes Marufa Akhter and Ritu Moni.
The selectors have also recalled batter Murshida Khatun, left-arm spinner Sanjida Akter and batter Dilara Akter.
To make room for the additions, Juairiya Ferdous, Fahima Khatun and Sumaiya Akter have been axed from the WODI Squad.
Nigar Sultana, who recently stepped down from T20I captaincy, will lead the team in Australia and the experienced off-spinner Nahida Akter will act as her deputy.
The Tigresses are scheduled to depart for Australia on October 3.
The second and third ODI will take place on the 11th and the 14th.
All three matches will take place in Brisbane.
