Smith ruled out with neck injury as Australia bowl first in Newlands decider

Sports Desk

Australia won the toss and elected to bowl first in the third and final Test against South Africa at Newlands on Tuesday, but will be without Steve Smith, who is unfit because of a neck injury.

Josh Inglis comes in for Smith and will bat at number five, with Cameron Green moving up to four.

Australia have also reshuffled the top of the order. Matt Renshaw will open alongside Travis Head.

Cooper Connolly replaces Beau Webster in the middle order. Spinner Nathan Lyon is recalled in place of seamer Scott Boland.

South Africa have made one change. Fast bowler Gerald Coetzee plays his first Test in two years, replacing the injured Anrich Nortje.

The three-match series is level at 1-1.
