As the final whistle blew for the Argentina-Jordan and Austria-Algeria matches from Group J on Sunday, the group stage of the FIFA World Cup 2026 came to a close.
Out of the 48 teams, 12 group champions, 12 group runners-up, and eight of the best third-placed sides have qualified for the newly introduced Round of 32.
Round of 32 will commence on Sunday midnight, with South Africa taking on Canada, and will conclude with Argentina-Cape Verde match in the early hours of Saturday.
The 16 winners will move on to the Round of 16, while the losers will see their World Cup journey come to an end.
