Hosts Bangladesh have been slotted together with Sri Lanka and Bhutan in Group A of the upcoming SAFF Championship.

The draw for the regional event took place on Saturday in Thimpu, Bhutan. India, Pakistan and the Maldives were slotted together in Group B of the six-team event, set to take place in Dhaka between November 4 to 17.

Nepal were absent from the draw, under a FIFA suspension. However, if Nepal’s football authorities can reverse the suspension before the deadline, they will be added to Group A.

Group members will face off against each other in the first round. The top two teams from Group A and B will move on to the semifinal.
