Bangladesh will host the 15th edition of the SAFF Championship from November 4 to 17, marking the tournament's return to the country for the first time since 2018, the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) announced on Monday.

Dhaka will stage the region's premier international football tournament, with all SAFF member associations expected to compete for the title.

The build-up to the championship will begin with the official logo unveiling in Dhaka on July 25. The tournament draw will then be held in Thimphu, Bhutan, on August 1.

"We are absolutely delighted to announce the dates and venue for the SAFF Championship 2026. This tournament holds a special place in our hearts, having created countless memorable moments for football fans across the region over the years," SAFF general secretary Purushottam was quoted in the press release.

Kattel said SAFF was confident Bangladesh would deliver a successful tournament and promised more activities and updates in the lead-up to the competition, expressing hope that fans across South Asia would join the countdown to another memorable edition of the championship.

Bangladesh last won the SAFF Championship title in 2003 at home soil.

Emboldened by an influx of Bangladesh-origin overseas players, the hosts would be hoping to end a 23-year wait for a SAFF title in men’s football.
