Health officials report 723 fresh cases of dengue inflection, 2 deaths overnight

Health officials on Wednesday said they recorded 723 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts killing at least two persons in the past 24 hours.

During the period, (of the 723) 101 patients were hospitalised in Barishal division, 83 in Chattogram division, 107 in Dhaka division, 112 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and 101 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas, 98 in Khulna division, 45 in Mymensingh division, 63 in Rajshahi division, 12 in Rangpur division and one in Sylhet division, a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) statement said.

Since the start of the dengue onslaughts Bangladesh this year witnessed so far 63 deaths while the disease inflicted 21,550.

The dengue last year claimed 413 lives and inflicted 1,02,861 people in the country.

Besides, the dengue claimed 575 lives and inflicted 1,01,214 people in 2024.
