Dengue claims 2 more lives, 671 new cases reported

Health officials today reported 671 new dengue cases and two more deaths in the past 24 hours.

According to a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) statement, 70 patients were hospitalised in Barishal division, 83 in Chattogram division, 119 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), 130 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), 133 in Khulna division, 35 in Mymensingh division, 92 in Rajshahi division, six in Rangpur division and three in Sylhet division.

With the latest deaths, the dengue death toll in Bangladesh has risen to 76 this year. The number of reported cases has reached 26,272 since the beginning of the year.

Dengue claimed 413 lives and infected 1,02,861 people across the country last year.

In 2024, the mosquito-borne disease killed 575 people and infected 1,01,214 others.
